Derby County quartet Louie Sibley, Morgan Whittaker, Lee Buchanan and Bobby Duncan have been called up to the England Under-20 squad for their upcoming internationals.

It is the first time the players have been called up to the Under-20 squad, who are managed by former Rams midfielder Lee Carsley, after he replaced Paul Simpson in August following his departure to join Bristol City as their new assistant manager.

All four players have experience playing for England at Under-19 level, but they will now make the step up to the Under-20 group as the Three Lions face Wales at St George’s Park on Tuesday 13th October (12pm kick-off).

Sibley, Whittaker and Buchanan have advanced through the Derby County Academy, whilst Duncan joined the Rams from AFC Fiorentina in September.

The Academy trio burst on to the scene last season, breaking into Derby County’s first-team under Phillip Cocu.

Left-back Buchanan has made 10 appearances for the Rams, scoring once in a Carabao Cup clash against Scunthorpe United.

Striker Whittaker, meanwhile, has made 26 appearances, netting on one occasion in the final game of the 2019/20 campaign against Birmingham City.

Attacking midfielder Sibley has had a big impact for the Rams in the last year. He has scored five goals in 22 games for Derby and claimed the club’s 2019/20 Goal of the Season award for his stunning strike against Blackburn Rovers at Pride Park Stadium.

Duncan has yet to make an appearance for Derby since his arrival from Fiorentina.
