Derby County have been drawn at home to fellow Sky Bet Championship side Preston North End in the Second Round of the 2020/21 Carabao Cup.
The draw for the Second Round of the competition took place on Sunday afternoon and was conducted by former Liverpool defender and 1995 EFL Cup winner Phil Babb.
After progressing into the draw following a penalty shoot-out victory at home to Barrow AFC on Saturday, following a 0-0 draw after 90 minutes, the Rams have been handed another home tie at Pride Park Stadium against Alex Neil’s side.
Preston reached the Second Round after a 4-0 home win over League 2 side Mansfield Town last weekend.
All Second Round ties will take place on 15th/16th September.
The Third Round draw also took place on Sunday afternoon, with Derby and Preston discovering their potential opponents should they win the Second Round tie.
The winners of the tie with face either Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion or Sky Bet League 1 outfit Portsmouth in the Third Round on home turf.
All Third Round ties are take place on 22nd/23rd September.
