Derby Complete Turnaround To Secure FA Cup Victory
Robin van der Laan is pictured celebrating Derby County’s third goal of the afternoon in a 3-2 victory at the Baseball Ground, against Coventry City, which secured their place in the FA Cup Quarter Finals.
The Rams found themselves two goals behind early in the game as goals from Darren Huckerby and Noel Whelan scored for the Sky Blues.
However, Derby hit back immediately as Ashley Ward reduced the arrears, bundling the ball over the line following a scramble in the box.
Van der Laan then equalised before the break as he headed home from a corner to ensure the scores were level at half time.
With a replay looking likely, an inch-perfect ball two minutes from time found an onrushing Dean Sturridge who fired past Steve Ogrizovic to ensure the Rams booked their place in the next round of the competition.
In celebration, van der Laan dropped to his knees and raised his hands as Derby battled for the victory at the Baseball Ground.
