TEAM NEWS…
Wayne Rooney could make his Derby County bow after being registered as a Rams player with the January Transfer Window now open.
England and Manchester United’s all-time leading goalscorer is expected to be involved in the matchday squad and manager Phillip Cocu has confirmed, if selected, he is ready to start.
Midfielder Krystian Bielik will serve the first game of his three-match ban after being sent off in the 2-1 victory over Charlton Athletic on Monday night.
Tom Lawrence will also be missing for the clash with Barnsley as he must serve the second game of a two-match ban for picking up ten-bookings so far this season.
Right-back Jayden Bogle sat out the game against Charlton with an eye infection and manager Phillip Cocu is hopeful the England Under-20 international will return to the fold.
Defender Matt Clarke made his comeback against the Addicks after recovering from a six-week layoff with a knee injury and is expected to keep his place in the starting XI.
Graeme Shinnie and Tom Huddlestone (both hamstring) remain out of action, while Mason Bennett (ankle) and Ikechi Anya and George Evans (both calf) are also sidelined.
