Derby County youngster Liam Thompson has been named in League Football Education (LFE) ‘The 11’ to acknowledge his achievements on and off the pitch.
The midfielder has been a staple in Justin Walker’s Under-18s side so far this season, starting in all four of the UEFA Youth League games as well as making 11 starts for the Under-18s and a further two appearances in the Under-23s, all while maintaining his studies in the second year of his apprenticeship.
He is one of 33 apprentices to win the award over the course of the 2019/20 season, which celebrates the holistic development of young players.
Derby County’s Max Bird has previously won the award before being named EFL’s Apprentice of the Year last season.
