Derby County are uniting in their support of LGBT inclusivity to raise awareness of Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign.
Between Saturday 23rd November and Sunday 8th December, rainbow coloured substitution boards and corner flags will be used by all EFL clubs at their selected fixture to highlight their continued support for LGBT fans, players and staff across the game.
Clubs have also been provided with a club-specific rainbow pennant to gather an image of the team pre-match and unite the league in its support across all fixtures. Rainbow captain’s armbands, laces and programme adverts have also been provided to clubs.
Derby’s allocated fixtures to support the Rainbow Laces campaign will be this weekend’s home fixture against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday 30th November (3pm kick-off).
The EFL has changed its logo to a bespoke rainbow coloured version for the campaign and will share club stories of LGBT fans in the game throughout the campaign period.
Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign is in support of LGBT equality with a key theme for this year focused on creating more allies to LGBT people in sport, as we work together Make Sport Everyone’s Game.
The EFL’s support for Rainbow Laces forms part of its wider LGBT work delivered in conjunction with Clubs through the Equality Code of Practice. This includes delivering activities, setting policies, and advising on recruitment and education at clubs.
