Phillip Cocu is excited to step foot in the Pride Park Stadium home dugout for the first time in a competitive fixture this weekend against Swansea City.
The manager enjoyed success in his first game in charge of Derby on Monday night as his side beat Huddersfield Town 2-1 at the John Smith’s Stadium, courtesy of Tom Lawrence’s superb double strike.
The Rams' boss will be hoping to keep that momentum going as Steve Cooper’s Swansea City visit Pride Park on Saturday afternoon and Cocu is looking forward to the occasion.
“It's the first home game and we will do everything we can to make it a good game and get a good result,” he told RamsTV.
“I was very pleased to start the league season with an away win. It was a good feeling and I am happy about it. We look forward now to the next game at Pride Park.
“There are a lot of games to play, but to start with a win is a good feeling for the team. It gives confidence and extra motivation to go onto the next game.
“We hopefully will have a lot of our fans at the stadium to support our team and give something extra.
“Home form is very important. If opponents come to us they might be nervous before the game because of the atmosphere around during the games and they support our team immensely.
“Hopefully we can show it and bring on a good game on Saturday.
“Every game the details will change a little bit. The general playing style will change, because it is our philosophy and the way we want to play.
“Sometimes, depending on the opponent, or for a home or away game, or for types of players there are minor adjustments to the team.”
