Morgan Whittaker continued his rich vein of form in front of goal with a goal for England Under-18s in their 4-1 victory over Japan.
The forward, who has netted 19 goals in 23 games for the Rams Under-18s this season, has taken his tally to 20 goals for the season with his strike in the UAE Sports Chain Cup in Dubai.
That was Whittaker’s first international goal as he played 75 minutes for Neil Dewsnip’s side last night. He netted the third goal of the evening in the emphatic win.
The Young Lions will be in action again on Friday when they take on Czech Republic.
Meanwhile, fellow Under-18s star Jason Knight was in action for the Republic of Ireland Under-19s yesterday.
He played the full 90 minutes and excelled in their 5-0 victory over Romania in Russia yesterday in the 2019 UEFA Under-19 Championship qualifying Elite Round - Group 1.
Festy Ebosele was an unused substitute for Republic of Ireland Under-19s yesterday. It’s a quick turnaround for the pair as they face Azerbaijan on Saturday morning.
Elsewhere, Harry Wilson was an unused substitute for Wales in their 1-0 win against Trinidad & Tobago yesterday.
