Derby County Under-23s could take a step closer to advancing out of the group stage of the Premier League Cup when they take on Aston Villa on Monday night, kick-off: 7pm.
Darren Wassall’s side will travel to Halesowen Town to face Villa in the reverse fixture after suffering a 1-0 defeat earlier in the season and here, dcfc.co.uk has all the information you need ahead of the meeting.
THE STORY SO FAR…
The Rams currently sit second in Group F behind tonight’s opponents with two games remaining.
Having picked up seven points in four games already after wins over Bristol City and Plymouth Argyle, a draw over the latter and a loss to Villa, the Rams could pull away enough from the bottom two with a win to secure their place in the next round.
Meanwhile, Villa – the current Premier League Cup holders - have won all four of their matches so far in the competition without conceding a goal and have already guaranteed their qualification to the next round.
