Manager Frank Lampard is keen to move on quickly following last night's 1-1 draw at Ipswich Town as he prepares his Derby County side for the Emirates FA Cup Fifth Round clash against Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Rams drew 1-1 with Ipswich Town last night in the Sky Bet Championship but attention now turns to cup action.

It’s a short preparation period for Lampard’s side but he knows what his side need to do in order to be on top form on Saturday at the Amex Stadium (12:30pm kick-off).

“We have to rest, recover and be ready because it’s a tough game,” he admitted, when speaking to RamsTV.

“We have had a good run in the cups this season and it’s because we’ve performed when we needed to and stepped up - so we have to go again.”

The Rams have already tasted cup success against Premier League opposition this season.

A victory against Manchester United at Old Trafford was followed up with a confident display against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup earlier in the campaign.

Whilst it wasn’t to be for Lampard’s side at Stamford Bridge, they showed their credentials in the Third Round of the FA Cup against Southampton.

The Rams twice battled back from two goals down, both in the original Third Round tie and the replay on the South Coast, and eventually won the game in a penalty shoot-out.

Richard Keogh was the hero at St Mary’s, and whilst the Rams have won twice against Premier League opposition, he knows Saturday’s game will be a very difficult affair.

“We have to respect the quality and the step up,” he said. “They play at that level every week and they hold their own every week. It’s about how we approach the game because if we are not at it then it will be a difficult game for us.

“It’s a nice opportunity for us and we will bring a lot of fans so we will try to give them a good game to watch and win the match.”
