Derby County will switch focus to the FA Cup on Saturday when they face Southampton in the Third Round at Pride Park Stadium, kick-off: 3pm.
Frank Lampard’s side will look to put in another impressive cup campaign after reaching the Fourth Round in the Carabao Cup and here, dcfc.co.uk has everything you need to know ahead of the clash with the Premier League outfit.
TEAM NEWS…
Harry Wilson won’t be available for the game after picking up an injury in the last game against Middlesbrough. Following his goal that came in the second minute, Wilson was replaced just after half-time.
Tom Lawrence will be looking to return to action after picking up an injury against Nottingham Forest which has sidelined him for the past four fixtures. Lampard has said he will be ready for the FA Cup game.
It will, however, come too soon for Mason Bennett who has been out of action since the Aston Villa game at the beginning of November. The forward will take another step towards a return and will be back training with the squad next week.
Curtis Davies, Craig Bryson, Marcus Olsson and Joe Ledley remain out of action.
WHAT THE BOSS HAD TO SAY…
Speaking to RamsTV Lampard said:"It’s a big game for us at home against Premier League opposition so, for plenty of reasons, we want to give it our all.
"In my opinion you cannot turn off a desire to win games and you are professional.
"We showed that attitude in the Carabao Cup and we had a great run in that. Everyone at the club enjoyed it. Manchester United was one of the best games in recent seasons and we have to try and start out on another journey but we know it will be tough.
"It’s after a busy patch of games and we have suffered some injuries so we will see how we go but the players on the pitch will give everything."
