Derby County Under-18s continued their six-game unbeaten streak in all competitions as they defeated Stoke City 2-0.
The Rams threatened early on of what was to come as shortly after kick-off the prolific Jack Stretton clipped the post after turning a low driven cross towards the goal.
Despite consistent pressure the Under-18s finally put themselves a goal ahead five minutes before half-time as Lee Buchanan managed to stab the ball past Nathan Broome to open the scoring.
Derby looked assured in their performance and in little danger of being pegged back until they managed to put clear daylight between themselves and the Potters.
Some excellent, patient build up play around the Stoke 18-yard box eventually led to Tyree Wilson launching an unstoppable effort into the bottom corner of Broome’s goal.
As the Under-18s asserted their dominance Archie Brown almost made the score line even more convincing as he latched onto a through ball and smashed his effort against the woodwork.
Stoke could find little by way of reply and Derby comfortably saw out their two-goal victory to make it six unbeaten in league and cup.
