Derby County head back on the road for a final stop before the international break when they take on Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road, kick-off: 3pm.

Frank Lampard’s side will look to build on a 1-1 draw against Norwich City on Wednesday evening and here, dcfc.co.uk has gathered all the information you need ahead of the meeting with former Rams boss, Steve McClaren’s side.

TEAM NEWS…

Frank Lampard said in his pre-match interviews that he has a fully fit squad.

Curtis Davies could see a return to action after getting 70 minutes of match action under his belt to help the Under-23s to a 1-0 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion earlier in the week. He has been out of action since the opening fixture against Reading with a hamstring injury.

Although George Evans is back training with the squad after recovering from a knee injury, he will not yet be in contention for a place in the matchday squad.

WHAT THE BOSS HAD TO SAY…

Speaking to RamsTV, Frank Lampard said: “Steve has a big connection with the club. He’s been here a couple of times and I worked under him at England for two years.

“They weren’t that successful for us but having worked under him I have a fair relationship with him and it will be a difficult game for us. QPR have three wins out of five, started poorly but have bounced back from that.

“It’s a difficult stadium to go to. I’ve been there as a player a lot and it’s a tight stadium, strong atmosphere for the home team so there is lots of challenges for us to stand up to.”

THE LAST MEETING…

Queens Park Rangers 1-1 Derby County

Tuesday 6th March 2018

Derby County looked set to take all three points in their last meeting with QPR earlier this year but were forced to settle for a share after a late equaliser from the home side.

Andreas Weimann put the Rams ahead in the first-half when he fired into the back of the net after a clever run and through ball from Kasey Palmer.

Curtis Davies came close to doubling the lead, but a strong save by Alex Smithies denied the centre-backs header. It was Massimo Luongo who found his way past Scott Carson when he powerfully headed in a free-kick from Luke Freeman in the 87th minute.

QPR: Smithies; Furlong (Wszolek, 74), Onuoha, Robinson, Bidwell; Luongo, Scowen, Freeman; Smyth, Smith (Lynch, 86), Washington (Eze, 60)

Unused Subs: Cousins, Ingram, Manning, Perch

Derby County: Carson; Wisdom, Keogh, Davies, Forsyth; Huddlestone, Ledley (Johnson, 15); Weimann, Palmer (Vydra, 83), Lawrence; Nugent (Jerome, 71)

Unused Subs: Anya, Pearce, Roos, Hanson

WHO’S THE MAN IN THE MIDDLE…

David Webb has been confirmed as the referee for this weekend’s clash between Derby and QPR.

Webb has been the man in the middle of seven Sky Bet Championship fixtures so far this season, dishing out 15 yellow cards and is yet to show a red. One of those fixtures involved the Rams for their home victory over Preston North End.

On Saturday, Webb will be assisted by Lee Venamore and Dean Treleaven on the lines, whilst Gavin Ward has been appointed as the fourth official.
