Full back Jayden Bogle is still on a high from Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup victory against Manchester United but is fully focused on tomorrow’s Sky Bet Championship encounter against Bolton Wanderers.

The youngster penned a new four-year deal yesterday following an impressive start to the 2018/19 season.

His meteoric rise was highlighted on Tuesday night as he helped Derby County to a historic win against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

However, despite still bathing in the euphoria of Tuesday night’s win, his mindset has quickly switched to this weekend’s game against Bolton Wanderers.

He said: “After Tuesday everyone was buzzing, everyone was on a high, and I’m still on a high now to be fair, but we have to naturally switch on and think if we do the same as we did against Manchester United against Bolton Wanderers then hopefully the result will show itself.

“Every game in the Championship is a test. It’s a tough division with really good teams in. If you’re not on your game, any team can beat anybody on their day. Whether you are top of the league or bottom of the league, it’s a tough league and you need to be at it.

“The manager has been saying to not get carried away and carry on doing what we are doing. Brentford are a top team and we’ve showed what we can do against them so if we go with the right mindset and play how we normally play against Bolton Wanderers then we will be alright.”

Bogle made his professional debut for the club against Oldham Athletic earlier this season whilst his first league start came at the New Den against Millwall.

After five wins and one draw, Derby sit sixth in the Championship and Bogle believes it’s been a good start to the season but thinks there is more to come from the squad.

“I think we can move the ball quicker at times and score more goals,” the 18-year-old admitted. “We create a lot of opportunities in games and if we can tighten up and score more goals then we are looking good.

“We need to be more ruthless and put teams to bed, if we did that then we will become a force to be reckoned with in this division and go all the way. We showed what we can do against Brentford and against Manchester United.

“The style of play the manager wants to play is one that can beat any team so it’s important we don’t get too carried away with ourselves and focus.”
