Derby County will step out at The Den on Saturday against Millwall and Harry Wilson believes the hostile stadium provides the perfect environment for the Rams to thrive.
Derby look to get promptly back to winning ways in the Sky Bet Championship, but to do so, they must make the notoriously tough trip to the South East London club.
Wilson, who played against Millwall while on loan at Hull City last season, said these are the types of games that you play for and makes winning that much sweeter.
“I played against Millwall, so I know what they are all about,” the 21-year-old said.
“We will do our homework on them, we will concentrate on ourselves and hopefully we will go there and get the result we want.
“I think everybody thrives in that environment. Playing under pressure and in a hostile environment is what you play football for. If you win there I think it makes it a bit more special.”
The young wideman has started in each of the three games so far this season as Frank Lampard’s side recorded wins in two to begin the campaign.
On Tuesday night against Oldham Athletic in the Carabao Cup, Wilson provided his first assist for the club as his free-kick from the right found Fikayo Tomori in front of goal to give the Chelsea loan player his first senior goal.
The duo are already well-acquainted having spent the final part of last season at Hull together.
Their chemistry was on show at Boundary Park to put the Rams up before Mason Mount fired in his second goal in three appearances to seal the win.
The cup victory came at a vital time for the Rams who wanted to bounce back quickly from the defeat to Leeds at Pride Park a few days earlier.
“To have that game come along so quickly in the cup, we were all happy about that,” Wilson said.
“When you come off the back of a defeat, you are desperate to get back out there and put things right.
“I was happy to get my first assist, I think ‘Fik’ is having a bit of an argument with a couple of people whether it is or isn’t his goal, but I’ve seen the replay and I’m on his side!”
Derby will now look to continue their winning ways back in league play and take lessons from the last defeat.
Millwall are yet to seal a win in the Championship, opening their campaign with draws against Middlesbrough and newly-promoted side Blackburn Rovers.
Wilson believes the best of the Rams squad is yet to come.
“I don’t think we have played as well as we know that we can and the way we showed in pre-season against some good Premier League teams,” he added.
“We showed that we can play against the best and play the football that we want to play. We know we can do better but we are just looking forward to the game against Millwall.
“We will look to bounce back from that on Saturday and put in a good performance.”
