Tom Lawrence is convinced that Derby County aren’t far away from getting back to winning ways.
Derby will take on Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road this evening to kick off another busy week of Sky Bet Championship action (7:45pm kick-off).
The Rams will make the trip south looking to show an immediate response to the 2-1 defeat to fellow top six rivals Fulham at Pride Park Stadium on Saturday.
Derby sit fifth in the table as the games begin to tick down, with just 11 fixtures left to play during the regular league campaign.
Gary Rowett’s side have picked up two draws and two defeats from their last four outings but still remain very much in the promotion race.
Lawrence, 24, believes the Rams are capable of returning to the form which fired them from mid-table and into top six sooner rather than later.
He told RamsTV: “I think you know that at any time in the season you can have a little hiccup here and there.
“I think the main thing is how we bounce back, from the two draws and a defeat from our last three matches, and try to get a win on Tuesday night.
“It’s little errors which are costing us at the minute but we know what we are capable of. I don’t think we’ve been performing badly and I really do think it’ll turn for us sooner rather than later.
“If we can get back to our previous form we know we have the ability to come out on top in games. We just have to make sure we keep working hard every day and I am sure the victories will come.”
Looking ahead to the clash at Loftus Road, Lawrence added: “We know we won’t get an easy game.
“We need to put a performance on and get all three points. We go into every single game looking to win and that’s what we’re determined to do.”
Derby ran out 2-0 winners against Ian Holloway’s side when they met at Pride Park Stadium in November.
The game proved to be a special one for Lawrence, as he scored his first Rams goal in the game following his summer switch from Premier League Leicester City with a fine finish from distance.
The Wales international forward also hit a spectacular goal at Loftus Road last term whilst on loan at Ipswich Town and hopes to add to his tally this evening.
He said: “It was a good moment for me (the home game against QPR in November) but it seems a lifetime ago now!
“It was nice to get that first goal and it would certainly be nice to get another one at Loftus Road.”
Lawrence has been a regular for the Rams since arriving from Leicester back in August and has racked up 31 appearances and three goals, as well as six assists.
