The traditional Boxing Day football is here and Derby County will travel to East Yorkshire with the aim of maintaining their perfect December record against Hull City.
The Rams will also be looking to stretch their seven-game unbeaten run on the road against the Tigers (kick-off: 3pm) and here, dcfc.co.uk has collated all the information you need ahead of the visit of the Villans…
WHAT’S THE LATEST TEAM NEWS
The Rams have no new injury concerns from their 3-0 win over Millwall so will go into their meeting with Hull City with a fully fit squad to call upon.
David Nugent, who scored two goals in the win over the Lions, got a whack in the second half, but has declared himself fit to play against the Tigers.
Other than that, Derby will have a similar squad to call upon.
WHAT WAS SAID AHEAD OF THE TRIP TO HULL?
Speaking to RamsTV about Boxing Day’s trip to the KCOM Stadium, David Nugent said: “The game with Hull is going to be tough.
“They have had a new manager recently and I feel we can expect a change of form from them very soon.
“I’m sure they will have our 5-0 win over them in the back of their mind too so there could be a sense of revenge on their part.
“We climbed up to third before Christmas and also managed to get to within three points of Cardiff in second too.
“If we don’t back that win up against Millwall against Hull, it will be meaningless. These games are vital and we have to be prepared to put in good performances and good shifts.”
ONE TO WATCH
Jarrod Bowen is enjoying his finest season to date on the professional stage and enters the second half of the 2017/18 season as Hull City’s leading scorer.
Already with 10 goals to his name from just 18 shots on target, the wideman is four ahead of Kamil Grosicki and you have to wonder where the Tigers would be without his goals this term.
An exciting talent who joined Hull’s academy at the age of 14 from Hereford Town and after bursting on to the scene this season, those days on the fringes must feel an awful long time ago for Bowen now.
Bowen’s rise has been remarkable and still it shows no sign of levelling out. The winger is proving to be a real gem in the Championship rough and whilst City did well to tie their academy graduate down until 2020, it is thought that interest in January will be rife. Premier League clubs will be watching with interest.
HOW DO I SECURE MY SEAT
Derby County supporters without a ticket for our Boxing Day clash with Hull City are being urged not to travel to the KCOM Stadium this afternoon.
Seats went off sale before Christmas at the Ticket Office, presented by Showcase Cinema de Lux, after it was confirmed that pay on the day would not be available.
Fans without a ticket are advised not to make the journey to Hull City as they will be unable to gain entry to the stadium.
WHAT HAPPENED LAST TIME?
DERBY COUNTY 5-0 HULL CITY
Friday 8th September 2017
Ruthless, clinical, emphatic! Derby County returned to winning ways with a benchmark performance as they swept Hull City aside with a 5-0 victory under the Pride Park Stadium floodlights back in September.
Matej Vydra struck a brace in a stunning first half showing, after which the Rams held a four-goal lead at the interval.
Curtis Davies added a third with a header against his former club, before Bradley Johnson added his name to the scoresheet just before the interval.
The midfielder then added a fifth with a fine finish in the second half as the Rams recorded their biggest win of the campaign to date.

WHO’S THE MAN IN THE MIDDLE?
Tony Harrington has been appointed to take charge of Derby County’s Sky Bet Championship Boxing Day clash with Hull City.
Harrington has officiated 21 games so far this term across the EFL, from which he has produced 73 yellow and three red cards.
This will be the first time that he has officiated a Rams game this season – his last game back in October 2016 when he was the man in the middle for Derby’s 1-0 victory over arch-rivals Leeds United.
Notably, he was the man in the middle when the Rams defeated Hull 4-0 at Pride Park Stadium back in April 2016.
In total, Harrington has taken charge of six matches involving Derby ahead of the weekend, of which four games have been won, one drawn, whilst defeat has been tasted only once.
Harrington will be assisted by Matt Foley and Akil Howson on the lines, whilst Darren Drysdale has been appointed as the fourth official.
