Derby County’s high-flying Under-18s will be looking to replicate their league success in the Premier League Cup this morning as they get set to take on West Bromwich Albion, kick-off 11am.

With Justin Walker and Rory Delap’s side unbeaten in their last five fixtures, including a 3-1 victory three weeks ago against the Baggies, the Rams go into the challenging test as the more favoured team amongst the two.

In terms of their recent success, after a break in the regular competitive schedule last time out, their most previous game against Stoke City ended in a comfortable and assured 3-0 victory over the Potters.

A brace from the recently called-up England Under-17 international, Louie Sibley, saw the Rams gain a comfortable lead away from home before Fuseine Rashid later rubbed salt into the host side’s wounds with an intelligent second-half goal and Derby’s third of the game.

Unbeaten in four in Premier League – North, the Rams currently sit third, level on points with Manchester City, and two points behind the league leaders Manchester United.

The Rams now make way for the second instalment of their Premier League Cup campaign against the Baggies and they will be looking to get a first win under their belt after drawing 1-1 with Swansea in the first group stage fixture last month.

Last time out in the newly-formed cup competition, Albion fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of Everton and they two will be looking to get their tournament campaign back on track.

Reflecting on the Ram’s recent run of results, defender Jayden Bogle spoke to dcfc.co.uk.

The second-year scholar and full-back said: “At the moment, the feeling is really good and really positive within the group.

“Everyone is buzzing but now it is all about being consistent and keep picking up the points that we need.

“In this league, we know it is always going to be hard and competitive but I believe that we are all focused and that if we keep working hard every day in training, the results will always come.

“I think if you compare how we were defensively last season, we weren’t as organised as we could have been and some of the results proved that.”
