Derby County’s Under 18s fought back from two goals behind to earn a 2-2 draw away against Newcastle United and extend their unbeaten run to eight games in all competitions.
Newcastle took the lead after 35 minutes when Elias Sorensen’s shot from distance flew past Derby goalkeeper Sam French and went in off of the underside of the crossbar.
The hosts then doubled their lead shortly after the restart with Thomas Allan volleying in Oliver Walters’ cross from close range.
The Rams fought back and reduced their deficit when Jason Knight fired home a cleverly taken free-kick midway through the second period.
Justin Walker’s and Rory Delap’s side equalised nine minutes later, with Callum Minkley’s cross being turned in by Magpies defender Max Allen.
