Derby County’s Under-18s returned to winning ways on Saturday afternoon with a comfortable and impressive 3-1 victory away at West Bromwich Albion.
Adam Davie put the visitors ahead after just 14 seconds; Max Bird played the ball to his left side and Davie took it past a defender before rifling a shot into the roof of the net from a tight angle.
The Rams then doubled their lead midway through the first half with Davie getting his second of the match.
He was put through on goal courtesy of Louie Sibley’s long range pass and the forward controlled the ball before placing his shot into the bottom corner of the net from the edge of the penalty area.
In the second-half, the Baggies managed to pull one back in the second half when Jamie Soule powerfully headed Aksum White’s cross past Rams goalkeeper Matt Yates.
However, Justin Walker’s and Rory Delap’s side regained their two-goal lead seven minutes later through Morgan Whittaker, who fired a half-volley from outside of the penalty area straight past West Brom goalkeeper Adam Przybek to confirm all three points for the Rams.
