Derby County became only the second team to stop the league leaders Cardiff City from scoring this season after coming away with a 0-0 draw from the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday.
It was a day of landmarks for Gary Rowett’s side, with Richard Keogh, Scott Carson and Craig Forsyth all reaching milestones on the road.
Here’s four key stats from the stalemate in the Welsh capital…
500-up for the skipper
Keogh put in a typically solid performance during the goalless draw in Cardiff – an occasion that marked his 500th start in club football as a professional.
Over half of those have been for the Rams (256), with the Ireland international also having previously been one of the first names on the team sheet for Coventry City (95), Carlisle United (93), Bristol City (34), Cheltenham Town (10), Huddersfield Town (10) and Wycombe Wanderers (2).
The game also marked significant occasions for Carson and Forsyth - as they reached 400 and 250 career appearances respectively.
First away shutout since January
Rowett’s side put in a resolute defensive display at the Cardiff City Stadium, and his side were rewarded with their first shutout on the road in the Sky Bet Championship in nearly eight months.
It came on January 31st in a 3-0 win against Ipswich Town at Portman Road, with Craig Bryson, Tom Ince and Darren Bent getting the goals under the lights in East Anglia.
Forsyth in the thick of the action
Forsyth came closest of any player to breaking the deadlock at the weekend, with his whipped cross crashing back off the post midway through the second half.
Whilst he was desperately unfortunate not to earn the three points for his side, the left-back did have more touches of the ball (65) than any other player on the pitch on Saturday, a true indication of his work-rate and quality down the left-hand side for Rowett’s team.
Davies clears his lines
Davies has been ever-present for Derby so far in the Sky Bet Championship this season and the experienced centre-back produced a top performance on Saturday to keep the league leaders at bay.
On his tenth consecutive league start for the Rams, he made more clearances (9) than any other player on the pitch, as well as winning 10 duels and completing 100% of his tackles.
