Kellan Gordon has been nominated for August’s Premier League 2 Player of the Month award.
It comes off the back of a fine start to the 2017/18 season for the flying wideman in which he made his senior Derby County bow and has also secured a Transfer Deadline Day loan move to Sky Bet League 2 side Swindon Town for the remainder of the season, alongside Slovenian midfielder Timi Max Elsnik.
The 19-year-old made his first team debut as a second half substitute in the Rams’ 1-0 Carabao Cup First Round win at Grimsby Town.
For Darren Wassall’s Under-23s, Gordon has started the first three Premier League 2 Division 1 fixtures and scored their opening goal of the campaign in the narrow 3-2 defeat to Arsenal at St George’s Park.
The wideman is up against Kyle Edwards (West Bromwich Albion), Hamza Choudhury (Leicester City), Ethan Ampadu (Chelsea), Joseph Nuttall (Blackburn Rovers), George Williams (Fulham), Marcus Tavernier (Middlesbrough), Reiss Nelson (Arsenal).
The winner of the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award will be revealed in due course.
