Derby County is saddened to learn of the passing of its former player Paul Futcher at the age of 60.

Futcher, who was a central defender, made 40 appearances for the club after arriving from Oldham Athletic in 1983.


He was part of the Derby side under Peter Taylor which avoided relegation from Division Two in 1982/83.


Futcher also played for Chester, Luton Town, Manchester City, Barnsley, Halifax Town and Grimsby Town.


The club wishes to offer its condolences to the family and friends of Paul Futcher.
