A team of Derby County All Stars will take to the wicket this weekend for an annual charity cricket match in memory of former BBC Radio Derby presenter Colin Bloomfield.
Derby’s President & Chief Executive Sam Rush will be joined by a number of former players including club ambassadors Roger Davies, Michael Johnson and club appearance record holder Kevin Hector.
They will compete against a team made up of the different age groups from Spondon Cricket Club for the Colin Bloomfield Memorial Trophy.
Event Organiser Neil Bennett said: "It’s always a big challenge to put this game together but hugely worthwhile and seems to be getting bigger and better each year as the community comes out to support it.
"People love seeing their heroes and over the years we have had the support of Derby County and players such as Roger Davies and Kevin Hector have always turned out for us which is fantastic.”
This year will see the Rams All Stars looking for revenge as last year saw Spondon lift the cup in front of a crowd of more than 1,000 spectators.
The event will take place at Locko Park on Sunday 31st July.
Mascots Rammie and Ewie will be there - as well as a bouncy castle and refreshments to provide entertainment for children.
Prizes for this year's raffle include signed Derby County merchandise, a 32-inch flat screen TV, a family photograph session with a professional company, vouchers for leading high street stores and cinema tickets.
The money raised will be donated to the Derby County Community Trust and the Holbrook School for Autism.
Gates open at 12pm with the match scheduled to begin at 2pm. Entry is £2 for adults with children being admitted free of charge.
