Derby County have discovered who their opponents will be in the Premier League International Cup.
It was announced last week that Derby’s Under 23s will take part in the competition for the first time in the upcoming 2016/17 season, following their promotion to Premier League 2 – Division 1 last season.
The Premier League International Cup will see twelve of England’s best academy sides compete against twelve of the top development squads in the rest of Europe.
The Rams have been drawn in the same group as fellow Premier League 2 – Division 1 outfit Sunderland, Dutch top flight PSV Eindhoven and Portuguese giants Benfica.
The competition, which mirrors Premier League 2 in being a mainly Under 23 format, begins with group stages that run from August until December, with the knockout stages taking place in the new year.
