Richard Keogh, Jeff Hendrick and Cyrus Christie all started as Republic of Ireland rounded off their UEFA Euro 2016 preparations with a 2-1 defeat to Belarus.

The Derby County trio all played the full 90 minutes in the loss at a packed out Cork City’s Turner’s Cross Stadium.

Keogh also wore the Captain’s armband in the Green Army’s final international friendly fixture before this summer’s European Championship Finals in France.

Mikail Gordeichuk’s strike midway through the first half gave Belarus the lead at the break, which was doubled by Maksim Volodko after the interval.

Stephen Ward did halve the deficit with 19 minutes remaining, but despite their efforts, Ireland were unable to find the elusive equaliser.

Martin O’Neill, the Republic of Ireland Manager, is set to name his final 23-man squad for the summer’s tournament later this evening.
