Derby County can confirm that Chris Martin has withdrawn from the Scotland squad due to a minor knee injury, which is being assessed.

The 27-year-old striker was called up to Gordon Strachan’s Tartan Army squad to face France and Italy in two scheduled international friendlies on Sunday 29 May and Saturday 4 June respectively.

Following careful consideration, however, Martin withdrew from the Scotland squad on precautionary measures and will continue to be assessed in the coming days by Derby's medical staff.

The Rams will still be represented in the Scotland squad in their upcoming friendlies after Craig Bryson, the 29-year-old midfielder, linked up with the squad earlier this week.
