Derby County’s Futsal teams came out on top when they took on local rivals Nottingham Forest in the Football League North Midlands Division on Wednesday.

For the Derby County A team, a hat-trick and Man of the Match performance from Jorge Knowles, as well as goals from Josh Allsopp and Jacob Taylor, were enough to secure all three points in a 5-2 victory.

The result leaves the side third in the Division 1 table.

For the Derby County B team, Sam Goddard (2) and Joe O’Keefe were on the scoresheet in five-goal thriller which ended 3-2 in the Rams’ favour.

The result gave a bit of breathing space for Derby, who remain third in the Division 2 table, two points ahead of Stoke City.

Following the victories, Derby County Community Trust’s Education Manager, Kieron Wicks said: “Following what we all felt were below-par performances against Notts County two weeks ago, we are delighted to get the response we were after.

“The results have given us the confidence to go out and get a result when we face Stoke City in a fortnight’s time.”
