Jamie Hanson has been credited with Derby County’s goal in last Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Norwich City in the Sky Bet Championship.

Initially across a number of outlets, Derby’s equaliser at Carrow Road went down as an own goal by Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy.

However, Derby raised the issue with the Football League and the Dubious Goals Committee at the beginning of this week and, as a result, the goal has now been confirmed as Hanson’s.

The game against the Canaries was Hanson’s first in professional football and he has now joined an illustrious list of debutants scoring on their Derby debut.

Derby County’s President & Chief Executive Sam Rush said: “I would like to thank the Football League and the Dubious Goals Committee for listening to our submission and crediting the goal to Jamie Hanson.

“We felt strongly that the goal should be awarded to him and we’re pleased that this has been confirmed as the case.”
