Rams enjoy a tough swimming session at Repton School as part of their pre-season preparations.

Derby County's squad stepped away from their traditional pre-season running exercises to take part in an intense swimming session on Tuesday afternoon.

On what was their fourth day of pre-season training ahead of the 2013-14 season, Nigel Clough's squad travelled to Repton School in Derbyshire to make the most of their impressive range of sporting facilities, following a gruelling morning training session at Moor Farm Training Ground.

The players completed a series of rigorous swimming exercises, where they had to work both as individuals and in groups.

Clough explained: "Going swimming wasn't a chance to mess about in the swimming pool and relax; the work the players had to do is all part of their fitness programmes and they worked extremely hard.

"From the moment they reported back for training last week they've been brilliant in all the training sessions we've laid on and sometimes a change of surroundings can be important."

The players will have a rest day on Wednesday before reporting back for training on Thursday and Friday to conclude their first full week of pre-season training.
