Scottish international wants Rams to take heart from a point gained at Hillsborough.
Midfielder Craig Bryson has called on the side to build on the point they earned at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, when they travel to the KC Stadium this evening. The Rams took a two goal lead at Hillsborough courtesy of Jeff Hendrick’s first-half strike and Jamie Ward’s 47th minute penalty, before the Owls responded with goals from Michail Antonio and Miguel Llera.
The draw against the Owls took the Rams’ points tally away from home to 13 for the season, and Bryson is keen for the team to use it as a foundation to return to winning ways away from Pride Park.
He told Rams Player: “We need to build on Saturday’s point against Sheffield Wednesday, and take that into Hull on Tuesday.
“Hull are an excellent side and are having a really good season. When they came to Pride Park they were extremely difficult to break down, and it was a hard defeat for us to take.
“They play a different system to the majority of the teams in the Championship and pack the midfield. That makes it a difficult formation to play against and makes it harder to create clear cut chances.
"So when those opportunities do come around at the KC on Tuesday, we are going to have to take them.”
After returning to the side in recent weeks following a spell on the sidelines with a knee injury, Bryson has been deployed on the left-hand side of midfield, alongside Will Hughes, Jeff Hendrick and Paul Coutts.
Despite playing on the left of a midfield three at Kilmarnock, the role as a wide midfielder is a new experience for the Scottish international, but one which he is adapting to, and enjoying.
He added: “It is a bit different for me, I have always been used to playing in the middle.
“It takes a bit of getting used to, but in training I have been trying to go out onto the left for everything we have been doing.
“I am getting used to it now and I think my performances have been ok there.”
