Derby County Under-21s earned a point with a late equaliser against Arsenal in Premier League 2 on Monday night.

Keith Briggs' side came into the tie off the back of a 3-1 home triumph over Stoke City in The Central League competition last Tuesday and were looking to keep momentum on their side in the closing stages of the campaign.

After a tight and battling start to the game, Cruz Allen opened the scoring six minutes before half-time to send the Rams into the break with a goal advantage.

The Gunners fought back in the second half and stunned Derby with two goals in three minutes to flip the game on its head after goalkeeper Harry Evans saved a penalty from Nathan Butler-Oyedeji.

Derby kept pushing, though, and striker Justin Oguntolu was teed up by Demiane Agustien - both half-time substitutes - and made no mistake to equalise with one minute of regulation time remaining.

The clash with Arsenal was the Rams’ penultimate Premier League 2 match of the 2024/25 season. A clash against Southampton at Matlock Town's Proctor Cars Stadium on Friday 11th April will close out the league campaign (7pm kick-off).
