Derby County goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterström says a hard-earned point away from home at Preston North End on Saturday was a big positive ahead of a busy fixture schedule.

The Rams drew 1-1 with Preston North End at Deepdale after a 23rd-minute goal from Preston’s Sam Greenwood saw a swift response from Jerry Yates, who evened the scoring with his third goal in as many matches for the club just six minutes after falling behind.

Zetterström caught up with RamsTV following the Championship clash in Lancashire.

On taking a point against Preston…

It was a difficult one. It always is away from home, especially in conditions like this (heavy rain). We always go into matches with the mentality of wanting to win the game. Sometimes you do, sometimes you don't.

Even though I think we're all a bit disappointed that we didn't win, you have to see the flip side of it - we didn't lose, and we got an important point away from home. The lads showed incredible effort out there on the pitch.

On picking up more points on the road…

It's a long season with plenty of away games, and you have to take points away from home if you want success.

On Jerry Yates’ performance…

It's just not about the goals. It's his constant running and working, whether we have the ball or they do. He puts in the effort that you need and battles for second balls. He's been great this entire season and these last few games he's scored some very important goals as well.

On looking forward to returning to Pride Park this week against Swansea and Sheffield Wednesday…

We are very much ready for it. It's going to be a massive game against Swansea. It'll also be nice for me to play at home in front of the fans for my first midweek game.
