Evie McCaffrey has joined Derby County Women on a dual registration deal from Manchester City’s Pro Girls Academy (PGA).

The 16-year-old attacking midfielder is an England youth international and made recent appearances as part of the Lionesses Under-17s squad during the most recent international break - including in a 7-0 win over the Faroe Islands, a 2-0 success over Czechia and a 2-2 draw with the Netherlands.

McCaffrey will bolster Ewes Head Coach Sam Griffiths’ options in attack and in the middle of the park, as she looks to continue her development playing senior football for Derby and youth football with her parent club Manchester City.

The young attacker has already got stuck into life in the Ewes’ squad. She made her first appearance against Stoke City in the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division in September, coming on as a first-half substitute and impressing off the bench.

Griffiths’ Derby side had a week break from competition and will return to action on Sunday 27th October when they face Hull City Ladies on the road (2pm kick-off).
