Paul Warne provided an update on his Derby County squad ahead of the visit of Norwich City to Pride Park Stadium on Saturday (12:30pm kick-off).
Left-back Callum Elder was withdrawn in the latter stages of the Rams’ narrow 1-0 defeat to Sheffield United at Bramall Lane last weekend.
The Australian has been assessed this week and Warne delivered news on his condition when he spoke to the media on Thursday morning.
He said: “He’s doing well but he will be out for a little while - he’s tweaked his groin.
“He won’t play any part in the next three or four games.”
The boss did have some positive news to report regarding the versatile Kane Wilson, as well as defender Jake Rooney, who suffered a knee injury during pre-season.
Warne added: “Kane Wilson is fine - he could have been in the squad last week.
“Jake Rooney will be back on the grass today.”
