Paul Warne has confirmed his Derby County starting line-up for today’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Cardiff City at Pride Park Stadium (3pm kick-off).
Warne has named an unchanged first XI from the Rams' last game when they overcame Bristol City 3-0 at Pride Park Stadium in the league a fortnight ago.
Deadline day signings Marcus Harness and Nat Phillips, who were ineligible to play Derby’s last game after putting pen-to-paper late on the day beforehand, have been named on the bench and could make their first appearances since making their loan switches to the club.
Four members of the first team squad linked up with their respective national sides last week - Guatemala’s Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Gambia’s Ebou Adams, Sweden’s Jacob Zetterström and Zimbabwe’s Tawanda Chirewa.
Chirewa is sidelined after the international break as he sustained a concussion, so is set to miss the next two fixtures as the club will follow the relevant protocols.
The remaining three internationals all returned to training from the national fixture period, with Zetterström, Mendez-Laing and Adams all in the starting line-up today.
Corey Blackett-Taylor played a full 90 minutes in the Under-21s Premier League Cup tie against AFC Bournemouth last night as he builds up his fitness after sustaining a quad injury during pre-season. Conor Washington also played in the game against the Cherries after also being injured in pre-season.
Jake Rooney is still continuing his recovery from a knee injury he sustained over the pre-season period.
