Paul Warne has revealed Derby County’s starting line-up for their first match of the 2024/25 Sky Bet Championship season against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park this evening (8pm kick-off).


The Rams head to Lancashire for their first Championship game since May 2022, after achieving promotion from League One last season, against John Eustace’s Rovers side that finished 19th in the Championship last term.

Derby last played against Blackburn in March 2022, with the Lancashire outfit claiming three points on home turf with a 3-1 win.

Warne’s team come into the game buoyed by a 2-1 win over Spanish top-flight team Real Valladolid in their final pre-season friendly last Saturday at Pride Park Stadium.


The Derby Head Coach had the pick of most of his squad, with Jake Rooney unavailable after sustaining a knee injury in pre-season and striker Jerry Yates serving a three-match suspension picked up on the final game of last season when playing for Swansea City.

Signings Ben Osborn, Kayden Jackson, Kenzo Goudmijn and David Ozoh will make their competitive debuts for the club after joining in the summer.
