Jacob Widell Zetterstrom is ready to experience the ‘amazing’ atmosphere at Pride Park Stadium after the Swedish goalkeeper completed his move to Derby County.

Zetterstrom has linked up with Derby from Stockholm-based club Djurgardens for an undisclosed fee and has signed a three-year deal, that runs until 2027.

He will get his first chance to experience Pride Park when Derby play Middlesbrough in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday afternoon (12:30pm kick-off).

The 26-year-old has been Djurgardens' number one for over four years and will work with Derby’s goalkeeping department under the watchful eye of Goalkeeping Coach Andy Warrington alongside senior shot-stopper Josh Vickers and recent recruit Rohan Luthra.

Zetterström sat down with RamsTV after making his first visit to Moor Farm Training Centre as an official Derby County player to discuss saying an emotional goodbye to Sweden, making his dream move to England and meeting Head Coach Paul Warne.

On joining Derby County…

It feels amazing and great to be here. I can't wait. It's definitely been a long one. Considering it has been, it's been quite a tough one as well and mentally. Perhaps thinking you might move next week and then having a game the day after - it's been a difficult one. It has also been an amazing journey and I'm very happy to be here.

On playing his final game for Djurgardens last night…

It looked emotional and it really was. I've been in Djurgardens my entire football career and I've played there in that stadium for four years straight now. Goodbyes are always difficult, and especially if you've had such a great time. I knew it was going to be emotional, but you can't really prepare for that.

On always wanting to play in England…

I've been following English football my entire life and to actually be here and to play, it's just a dream come true. I’m extremely excited to be joining Derby. It's a huge club, with amazing fans.

On speaking to Paul Warne and his first impressions of the team…

We've had some conversations on and off. He's been following my games, making sure I didn't get injured! He's just been supporting me throughout this period and it has been the same with goalkeeper coach Andy Warrington, just emphasising that focus on the game and that what happens, happens - and it (the transfer) will happen when it happens. I just have a great feeling, to be here and working with these guys.

I met everyone when they came in after training. Everybody's welcomed me straight away and I'm really looking forward to playing with them. I’m super excited (to play at Pride Park). It's going to be amazing. I cannot wait to experience the atmosphere, it's going to be just amazing.
