Rams in Kenya is an annual trip to the schools in the slums of Nakuru in Kenya and invites Derby County fans, Derby County Community Trust supporters or simply anyone with an interest to take on the trip of a lifetime and improve life for children in the project’s partner schools.

Since 2012 over 500 volunteers have taken on the adventure, which is led by the Derby County Community Trust, of supporting partner schools and their pupils to flourish.

Facilitated by African Adventures, the trip benefits the Community Trust’s work on home soil, and also the impoverished areas around Nakuru.

The 2025 Rams in Kenya trip will take place from 17th May-1st June, which is the two-week option, or 24th May-1st June for the one-week option. You can find further details around the trip and associated costs below.

The first Rams in Kenya 2025 Open Evening will take place on Thursday 18th July at Pride Park Stadium. It's a non-obligation event to come and find out more about the life-changing adventure from those who have been before, and African Adventures, who facilitate the trip.

To register for the Open Evening, please head to derbycountycommunitytrust.com/fundraising-and-events/rams-kenya.

The trip works in partner schools to improve sanitation, build new classrooms or facilities and increase safety measures. It also supports teaching and physical activity within the schools.

Volunteers also get the opportunity to take part in the Rift Valley Adventure Day which is a visit to the Nakuru National Safari, Thompson Falls and the Equator.

Every volunteer is tasked with fundraising to cover flights, transfers, accommodation and three meals per day, plus a contribution towards the Community Trust’s programmes at home and the Kenyan school projects.
