Derby County winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing described Tuesday evening's 3-0 victory at Exeter City as a 'massive' one for the side.

Mendez-Laing scored the second goal in the Rams' win and says the side showed their quality in key moments on the night, with Max Bird and Tom Barkhuizen also finding the net.

Speaking to RamsTV after the final whistle, the attacker reflected on the result.

On the result...

It's massive for us. All we can do is keep winning. The gaffer gave us a target of 10 wins between now and the end of the season and that's another one ticked off. I think it was a great performance from everyone, we were very disciplined out of possession and we know we've got the quality to hurt teams. That's what we did.

On how impressive the result was against such an in-form side...

Exeter are one of the in-form teams at the moment in the league. They play good football as well, so credit to them. It's not an easy place to come to and I remember it last season as well, so to win 3-0 is massive.

On adding to his goal and assist tally...

I've set my personal targets this season and I'm very close with quite a few games left, so hopefully I can continue to add to that.

On whether he should have had another goal tonight...

Absolutely. I think I got a bit giddy! You score some, you miss some. That's just how it goes.

On another tough test at home to Stevenage on Saturday...

It's going to be a battle. They like to run over teams. It's going to be very physical but we've got to try and stick to what we do and try and play our football. If we perform like we can, then we'll give ourselves a great chance.

On the 1,300 sold-out away following...

I love the away following. It always feels like a home game. Our supporters are unbelievable and I'm buzzing that we could get two goals in front of them tonight.
