Derby County Head Coach Paul Warne says his team are 'in a really good place' ahead of Saturday's return to Sky Bet League One action against Wycombe Wanderers at Pride Park Stadium (3pm kick-off).

The Rams go into the match having won their last five matches in the league and know another three points could see them further cement their place in the top six.

Warne sat down with RamsTV on Thursday to give his thoughts ahead of this weekend's clash with the Chairboys on home turf.

On the upcoming Christmas period...

This weekend feels like the last game of normality before we start getting Thursday games, Monday games and stuff like that. We all like routine and with the Christmas period it all gets a little messed up. This is our last game it feels like, of normality.

On the current injury situation...

Liam Thompson and Callum Elder have trained this week. Both have been out for a long period of time so training for one or two days is possibly not enough to have them available at the weekend. Darren Robinson is back in trainng and Ryan Nyambe will join in with the lads next week and then we've just got the longer term ones whom we won't see until the New Year.

On the resilience of the squad...

Sometimes in adversity, people stand up. That's what makes the senior boys impressive that they've been available for selection every week. There will be times throughout the season where every team goes through it where you get hit with injuries, suspension or lack of form and you just need some really consistent performers week in week out. We're blessed here that we've got some good senior professionals that have kept themselves in good nick.

On the current run of form...

Winning brings happiness and I say that for everyone. The other thing is, winning gives you consistency and you can pick a similar team. Consistency then gets relationships on the pitch, gets understanding and then that all goes together.

I'm obsessed with the culture of the club and when we sign anyone, they have to be athletic and they have to have a certain personality and buy into the culture. We've just got to be consistent in what we do and hopefully the results will come. Fortunately, at the moment, we've had good results.

It's about the players. They've looked more driven, more athletic and results do give you that. They have a lot more belief in themselves and I just think with this group now, if they are to go behind in a game then no drama, they keep to the game plan. They are in a really good place.
