Derby County return to Sky Bet League One action this weekend when they welcome Bristol Rovers to Pride Park Stadium (3pm kick-off).

The Rams' last outing in the league was the impressive 3-0 victory over Barnsley two weeks ago and they will be hoping to replicate a similar performance and result here against the Gas.

In the lead-up to the game getting underway, dcfc.co.uk has brought together all the key information you need to know...

Rams Team News

Left-back Craig Forsyth will miss the game owing to suspension after picking up five yellow cards in the league this season in the recent 3-0 home win over Barnsley.

Fellow defender Callum Elder (ankle) is having his fitness monitored after picking up an issue in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers Under-21s earlier this month.

Winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing (knee) missed the Emirates FA Cup First Round Replay against Crewe Alexandra earlier this month with a slight knock but he is now back in training.

Midfielder Liam Thompson (quad) returned to the grass this week but is still a few weeks away from a return to full training with the squad.

Striker Conor Washington (ankle) picked up an ankle injury during the international break with Northern Ireland and is set to be unavailable for Saturday.

Fellow forward Tyreece John-Jules (quad) has trained fully all week and could come into contention to be in the matchday squad for the weekend.

Defender Jake Rooney (knee) has undergone surgery on his damaged ACL and will be out of action for a lengthy period of time.

On loan Sunderland midfielder Elliot Embleton has returned to his parent club after injuring his quad in training last month and, after undergoing surgery, is to be out of action for several months.

Pre-Match Thoughts

Head Coach Paul Warne spoke to RamsTV to preview the return to action this weekend following the international break.

He said: "You're in football for the games, you want them to come thick and fast. It's just about trying to win the next one and we're doing everything we can.

"We know Bristol Rovers will be a tough game. We'll put our best eleven out to start, but we also have to have an eye on what they can do to us."

Midfielder Korey Smith sat down with RamsTV on Thursday ahead of Saturday's match with The Gas.

He said: "Our goal is to get promoted and you don't get promoted in November. It's all about putting yourself in a good position around Christmas and January time and then you have the final push at the end. That's when it really counts even more.

"It's all about putting ourselves in a good position and sometimes it's nice to be the hunter."

Match Officials

Tom Reeves will take charge of Saturday's match and will be assisted by Conor Brown and Steve Durnall. Danny Jarvis is on Fourth Official duties for the afternoon.

Reeves has officiated 16 games so far this season but Saturday will mark his first Rams game of the campaign.

He's distributed 51 yellow cards, one straight red and awarded five penalties across those matches.
