Derby County return to Pride Park Stadium on Tuesday evening when they host Sky Bet League Two promotion chasers Crewe Alexandra in an Emirates FA Cup First Round Replay (7:45pm kick-off).

A late fightback from the Rams saw them come from two goals down to draw 2-2 with the Railwaymen and force a replay in the First Round clash at the Mornflake Stadium, thanks to goals from Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Conor Hourihane, but the tie must be decided one way or another on Tuesday night.

In the lead-up to the game getting underway, dcfc.co.uk has brought together all the key information you need to know...

Team News

Striker Conor Washington (calf) missed Saturday's 3-0 home win over Barnsley and is having his fitness assessed.

Winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing picked up a knock to his knee in the win over Barnsley, which saw him forced off in the second half, and he is a doubt for the game.

Right-sider Joe Ward (hamstring) has missed Derby's last two matches as a precaution but is back training and could be available for Tuesday evening.

Defender Callum Elder (ankle) missed Saturday's clash with Barnsley with a knock and is having his situation reviewed.

Midfielder Tyrese Fornah is away on international duty with Sierra Leone after getting his first-ever call-up last week while defender Ryan Nyambe is also away with the Namibia international side.

Striker Martyn Waghorn (hamstring) is a doubt after missing the side's last four matches in all competitions.

Midfielder Liam Thompson (quad) is progressing well in his recovery after over two months out of action but is not yet back in training.

On-loan Arsenal striker Tyreece John-Jules (quad) is back in training with the squad after over two months out but the cup clash could come too soon.

Defender Jake Rooney (knee) has undergone surgery on his damaged ACL and will be out of action for a lengthy period of time.

On-loan Sunderland midfielder Elliot Embleton has returned to his parent club after injuring his quad in training in September and, after undergoing surgery, is to be out of action for several months.

Pre-Match Thoughts

Head Coach Paul Warne spoke to RamsTV on Monday morning to preview Tuesday's match.

He said: "This is normally the time of year where my teams kick in and I thought we looked really strong against Barnsley on Saturday. Hopefully that can continue with another strong performance in the FA Cup against Crewe."

Striker James Collins, who has scored five times in his last two outings for Derby, spoke to RamsTV to preview Tuesday evening's match.

He said: "Credit to Crewe in the First Round tie as they went 2-0 up against us and I thought we played really well on the day.

"Going 2-0 down felt a bit harsh but at home on Tuesday, we'll have the crowd behind us, we're in good form and if we can get the first goal, they'll have to come out and we can hopefully punish them."

Match Officials

Christopher Pollard will take charge of the FA Cup First Round replay and he will be assisted by Abbas Khan and Jacob Lehane. Liam Corbett is on Fourth Official duties.

Pollard has officiated 10 games so far in this campaign, including the Rams' 2-1 victory over Notts County in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy last month.

He's distributed 49 yellow cards, one straight red and awarded two penalties - one of which went the way of Notts' during October's victory.

FA Cup Format

In rounds up to and including the Fourth Round, fixtures resulting in a draw over the course of 90 minutes will go to a replay at the away side.

If the replay once again ends in a draw after 90 minutes, extra-time will be played and then if necessary, a penalty shoot-out.

Since 2016/17, ties have been settled on the day from the Quarter-Finals onwards with the use of extra-time and penalties.

From 2018/19, any tie from the Fifth Round onwards is now also settled by the use of extra-time and penalties rather than a replay.

FA Cup Substitute Rules

In the FA Cup, each club is permitted to name up to nine substitutes on their team sheet, of whom not more than five may take part in the cup tie.

Each club is only permitted a maximum of three opportunities to make substitutions during the game, although clubs may make substitutions at half time and any that are made will not count towards the maximum of three opportunities.
