Derby County Head Coach Paul Warne was delighted with his team's efforts in the 4-0 win over Accrington Stanley on Monday afternoon.
The Rams made it 10 points from 12 over the Christmas period in Sky Bet League One with the win but the performance itself is what pleased Warne most.
Speaking to RamsTV after the match, he reflected on the excellent start to the new year - with the only disappointment being striker William Osula's late red card.
On the game...
I'm really pleased. I thought our play at times was scintillating - the best we've played.
There was a real pace and drive about our play and I was really pleased that in the first two minutes; Conor Hourihane was in the six-yard box which showed a real intent of how we wanted to play.
I told the lads beforehand that we wanted a good start and they definitely took it to them. Ten points in four games which is a lot more like it.
On the goals...
We scored some really good goals but we missed some too. I thought the one with Didzy right at the end, that would have been some goal.
On Tom Barkhuizen...
I'm really pleased for Tom. He didn't start the last game but fortunately we've got some really good players and they all get a good crack at the team, hopefully.
It's a reward for all the hard work he puts in. You have to do everything out wide so if they can get goals then they will go home feeling great.
On the results over Christmas...
I'm still disappointed we didn't win at Bolton, when we drew 0-0, but those games away from home are always difficult.
I'm always concerned that when we play teams lower down in the league people are going to turn up - players included - thinking we'll be OK. There's a fine line between a confidence and arrogance and you've got to get the balance right - I thought we did today.
On Osula's red card...
I haven't seen it back but at the time I thought it was a red card. It will all be part of his learning curve, he's a young lad so I can't be too critical.
