Derby County will face Ipswich Town at Portman Road on Friday night in their latest Sky Bet League One fixture (8pm kick-off).

In the lead-up to the game getting underway, dcfc.co.uk has brought together all the key information you need to know…

Team News

Midfielder Jason Knight took a heavy knock in the midweek Papa Johns Trophy fixture against Manchester City's Under-21s and will be assessed closely ahead of the clash with the Tractor Boys.

Midfielder Conor Hourihane has missed Derby's last two matches with a calf issue and a late decision will be made on his fitness.

Striker James Collins will serve the second match of his three game league suspension following the red card he received in the 2-1 home defeat against Port Vale earlier this month.

Goalkeeper Joseph Anang remains an absentee for the Rams after suffering an arm injury in training back in August and he continues to work his way back to fitness.

Warne’s Words

Head Coach Paul Warne caught up with RamsTV ahead of the trip to Portman Road.

He said: "We’re playing one of the best teams in the league on Friday. When we look at Ipswich and how they play, they are full of confidence. They’ve got a really strong squad and have really prepared themselves for this League One fight. At the top of around 10 stats we look at, they beat us in nine of them so that’s where we’ve got to get to if we want to be in their position in the league. It is little steps for us, but it will be a good indication of where we are at right now."

From The Dressing Room

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, who has been playing at wing-back in recent weeks, sat down with RamsTV to preview Friday's match.

He said: "It’s still early on in the season. We want to go there and win the game but I wouldn’t look too much into the result whether it’s good or bad - it’s just another game that we’re focusing on.

"We know they are a good team. There's going to be a good crowd there as well and we look forward to these fixtures. These are the games you want to play in. We want to go there and do a good job, show what we’re about and lay down a marker."

Rams On The Road

Ahead of each away league game this season we'll be running a feature via RamsTV called 'Rams On The Road'.
