William Osula believes his Deadline Day loan switch to Derby County has come at the perfect time.
The young forward has joined the Rams on a season-long loan deal from Championship outfit Sheffield United in order to gain first team experience.
Osula, a Denmark Under-19 international, made five appearances for the Blades last season after impressing at Under-21 level and further strengthens the attacking options that Interim Manager Liam Rosenior has to call upon over the course of the 2022/23 season.
After putting pen-to-paper with the Rams for the campaign, Osula chatted to RamsTV about the move and explained why he chose Derby in favour of other clubs at a key stage in his career development.
On The Move…
It feels great to be here. Today, Deadline Day, hasn’t been too bad and I’ve come down to Derby and got everything sorted. A lot has been going on but it feels good to be here.
On The Loan Move At This Time…
I came into pre-season and worked hard at Sheffield United, where you know anything can happen, but right now in my career I know match minutes and game time is important to help me develop and improve.
On Why He Chose Derby…
Derby is good club and a big club too. I spoke to the manager and he has a good plan for me, so it feels like the right choice. It is good to know that other young players have come here and done well too. It’s a nice feeling and that helped with my decision.
On What He Can Bring To Derby…
I feel I am direct, fast, quick and able to create stuff, as well wanting to score goals. I am fit and raring to go now I am here.
