The Season So Far...

Derby's Under-23s saw their relegation to Premier League 2 - Division 2 confirmed with a 2-1 loss at Leicester City on Easter Friday.

Pat Lyons' side have fought strongly against the drop all season but, with several Under-23s players making the step up to the first-team squad over the season, it has been a challenge to compete owing to a youthful and threadbare squad.

Derby have picked up four wins, three draws and 16 defeats from their 23 outings this term, earning them a total of 15 points at the bottom of the table.

Tottenham are seventh in the league table this season with nine wins, six draws and eight losses and were 3-1 winners over the Rams earlier in the season.

Derby found themselves two goals behind inside the opening 20 minutes of the match as Nile John and Dilan Markanday struck for Spurs.

Luke Plange marked his first start for the Derby’s Under-23s with a goal before the half hour mark to haul the Rams back into contention.

With Derby pushing for an equaliser, with Plange going closest, Alfie Devine struck with just over ten minutes remaining to ensure it was the hosts that claimed all three points.
