TEAM NEWS…

Defender Richard Stearman will miss out as he begins his three-match suspension following his red card in Derby's 2-0 defeat at Huddersfield Town last Wednesday.

Midfielder Ravel Morrison, who has been away on international duty with Jamaica for their recent 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, is now back with the Rams but must serve the final game of his three-match ban for his sending off at Nottingham Forest last month.

Midfielder Max Bird sat out last week's loss at Huddersfield with a minor groin injury but he is expected to return to the fold.

Winger Kamil Jozwiak will again miss out with an ankle injury sustained in the 2-2 draw at home to Birmingham City at the end of January. The Poland international is expected to be out of action for several weeks.

Striker Colin Kazim-Richards won't feature in the matchday squad after suffering a calf injury in training last week and is likely to be out of action for a few weeks.

MANAGER'S THOUGHTS…

Manager Wayne Rooney offered his pre-match views to RamsTV and he said: “Tuesday’s game is a big one for us.

“Hull have been in good form and changed their manager recently, so they have switched their system slightly as a result.

“We need to be aware of that, but we have prepared really well. We know what we want to do and I really believe that if we play to our capabilities then we will win the game.”

“I think the players believe we can stay up and I believe in the players that they can do it.

“We are here to stay in this division this season and I feel we have a good chance. As I’ve said constantly, things aren’t going to change overnight; it’s going to take time and we must keep chipping away at the points of the teams ahead of us.

“We have to pick them off and it might be the last game of the season again, you never know, but all we have to keep doing is working, pick up points and give ourselves the best chance possible.”

FROM THE DRESSING ROOM…

Midfielder Krystian Bielik spoke to RamsTV at Moor Farm Training Ground as the Rams prepare to face the Tigers on home turf.

“I’m so happy that I can be with the team now and I can help them in whatever position that is,” he said.

“My target is to play my best for the team to give everything that I have on the pitch and see where we are at the end.

“I think the lads have done a brilliant job. The atmosphere in the dressing room is spot on, everyone is just behind each other and every game we say we play with no pressure, but we know what we want to achieve.

“We believe that we can achieve it so everyone is just giving everything and the same thing will happen when we play Hull City on Tuesday.

“I hope that the crowd will be behind us like they are every game and the support will be great once again.”

MATCH OFFICIALS…

Geoff Eltringham will oversee Tuesday night's game at Pride Park.

Eltringham has overseen 22 games so far this season in all competitions, showing 92 yellow cards and two red cards.

His last Derby match was the 0-0 draw at Fulham back in November, while he also saw the home draws at Pride Park Stadium against Huddersfield Town in August and Luton Town in October.

Eltringham will be assisted by Craig Taylor and Shaun Hudson on the lines, whilst David Webb has been appointed as the fourth official.

EFL SUBSTITUTE RULES…

The five substitutions rule has been scrapped for the 2021/22 season, the English Football League confirmed in July.

The rule allowing clubs to make five changes, as opposed to the usual three, was brought in following football's restart in June 2020 after a break due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Given that games had to be condensed into a short period of time it was thought beneficial and allowed managers to make as many as five changes in three intervals during a match.

Clubs had a longer post-break between seasons this time around and so the temporary rule has been changed.

Teams will be able to name seven substitutes but only use a maximum of three.

STREAMING INFORMATION…

With COVID-19 capacity restrictions lifted and EFL fixtures being played in front of full crowds once again, the temporary change in streaming rules is no longer valid.
