Following communication issued to supporters on 8th July 2021 in relation to Derby County’s pre-season friendly against Manchester United on Sunday 18th July (1pm kick-off), the club is now able to provide more details surrounding ticketing and the matchday operation.
The club has received approval to welcome 8,000 supporters, which is 25% of Pride Park Stadium in a socially distanced capacity, for the game.
Officials from both clubs took time to consider the practicalities of delaying the match to take advantage of potential changes to the COVID-19 health and safety protocol, as announced by the UK Government earlier this week, including the possibility of a 100% non-socially distanced stadium capacity. However, due to a combination of timing, logistics and contractual commitments, the clubs have agreed to now proceed with the original date and kick-off time.
