Manager Wayne Rooney has made five changes from the side which faced Coventry City on Saturday for this evening’s Sky Bet Championship encounter with in-form Barnsley (7pm kick off).

The Rams travel to Oakwell without first choice goalkeeper David Marshall who continues to miss out through injury, whilst Nathan Byrne also picked up a knock in training which has ruled him out of tonight’s clash.

That has signalled a return to the starting XI for Rangers loanee George Edmundson and on-loan Manchester United defender Teden Mengi, whilst Craig Forsyth is also handed a start. Kelle Roos continues in goal.

Kamil Jozwiak and Lee Gregory also return to the starting line-up as Lee Buchanan, Max Bird, Martyn Waghorn and Patrick Roberts all move to the substitute’s bench.

There is also a place on the substitute’s bench for Under-23s winger Tyree Wilson who has impressed recently and scored in their 4-1 victory at Liverpool on Sunday.
